2015 Junior Breeder Symposium

The Junior Breeder Symposium is an educational event held annually for youth and adults. It features numerous sessions throughout the day on various agricultural topics of interest. Sessions feature hands-on demonstrations with the opportunity for participants to learn by doing–the 4-H way!

The annual Junior Breeder Symposium will be held:
Saturday,March 28, 2015
Rutgers University
School of Environmental and Biological Sciences
(Round House – College Farm Road, New Brunswick, NJ)

This is the 14th Annual Symposium and an outstanding day is being planned thanks to the efforts of the New Jersey Department of Agriculture, the 4-H, and faculty from Rutgers. It includes equine, goats and sheep, dairy, and poultry. The State Dairy Clip Off will also be held that day.

New Jersey Junior Breeder’s Fund

The New Jersey Junior Breeder’s Fund, a low-interest loan program, offers agricultural education/FFA students and 4-H members the opportunity to advance the breeding of livestock and the production quality of livestock. Loan applicants must be New Jersey residents, have adequate facilities for livestock and be 4-H members or FFA/agricultural education students.

It is a 501C5 non-profit corporation formed in 1930 for the purpose of offering encouragement to boys and girls by enabling them to purchase livestock, and to aid in the development of the industry.

Applicants for loans must reside within the State of New Jersey, have adequate facilities for caring for the livestock, and show an earnestness of purpose and sense of responsibility.

Every borrower who secures a loan from the New Jersey Junior Breeders’ Fund, Inc. becomes a member of the New Jersey Junior Breeders’.
