2015-16 Ag Ambassador Contest Announcement
New Jersey Agricultural Ambassador contest is a state level contest involving representatives from all of New Jersey’s counties. Those who are single male or female between the ages of 16 and 21 years old have the opportunity to apply to represent Sussex County at this event! Those interested must be 16 years of age prior to November 1.
The contestant from each county will be required to submit an essay. The topic for this year’s contest is What Agriculture Means to Me. (Note: You do not have to submit an essay unless you are selected to represent Sussex County.) The contest will include an interview. Contestants will be judged on their presence, their public speaking and knowledge of New Jersey’s agricultural and its agricultural fairs. Contestants should also be prepared to make a three minute speech on How I plan on representing New Jersey’s Agricultural Fairs should I be chosen Ambassador….
The State contest will be held Sunday, November 1st (time and location details to be announced).
If you are interested in competing to be New Jersey’s Agricultural Ambassador, please send a letter stating your interest and intent as to why you think you’d be a good ambassador for agriculture in Sussex County to Joan Smith, President Agricultural Division, New Jersey State Fair ®/Sussex County Farm and Horse Show.
