You are invited to participate in the 8th annual North Jersey 4-H Teen Conference. All 4-H members in grades 8 – 13 are invited to join their fellow 4-Hers for a weekend long teen conference that will be held March 13-15, 2015 at the Regency House Hotel in Pompton Plains, NJ. http://www.regencyhousehotel.com.
A group of dedicated teens have partnered with adult volunteers and 4-H staff to plan and implement this conference. The theme for this conference is 4-H World’s Fair and will focus on ways to learn about other countries and cultures, foods from around the world, and help build goals for the future.

- When sending in your registration form, please include the completed forms marked with an asterisk (*) above and your payment made out to your county 4-H account as indicated by your 4-H staff person. ANY INCOMPLETE INFORMATION ON FORMS WILL RESULT IN YOU NOT BEING REGISTERED. Please make sure that all forms are completed and signed.

The 2015 National 4-H Conference will be held April 11-16 at the National 4-H Youth Conference Center in Chevy Chase, Maryland. Known as the “Secretary’s Conference,” National 4-H Conference is the premier youth development opportunity to engage youth assisting in the development of recommendations to help guide 4-H Youth Development Programs nationally and in their communities. The purpose of this working conference is to solicit input from a diverse cross-section of the Cooperative Extension System to strengthen and expand the 4-H Youth Development Program at local, state and national levels. The conference is administered by 4-H National Headquarters of the National Institute of Food and Agriculture (NIFA) within the United States Department of Agriculture.
Approximately 300 youth, volunteer leaders, and state and county Extension staff members from across the United States, the U.S. Territories, and the Canadian Provinces are expected to attend. New Jersey will be sending a delegation of six teen 4-H members and two adult chaperones. Teens must be in the 10-12 grades as of September 2014 in order to participate in the 2015 event. 4-H members interested in attending must work well in groups, have good communication skills and be leaders. They should also be interested in making a change in their community and be willing to work on a project upon their return.
Interested 4-H members must complete an application form available from the county 4-H office or on-line at http://nj4h.rutgers.edu/leadership/nat4hconference/
All applications are due to the county 4-H office by October 1, 2014.
Group and individual interviews will be held on Saturday, November 1 at the School of Environmental & Biological Sciences, Cook-Douglas Campus, Rutgers University.

Discover the Leader in You!
The Discover the Leader in You! Regional Leadership Conference for 4-H members in grades 6-8 will be held in the North (3/29) and South (3/15) in March. While attending the conference, middle school youth will have fun, meet new friends and develop leadership and personal development skills that they can utilize at home, in school, in their 4-H club, and in their community.
To register, please complete the Discover the Leader in You! Regional Conference Registration Form and a NJ 4-H Event Permission Form by no later than February 21, 2014.
